Introduction

What is Textevo?

Textevo is a text animation tool for After Effects. It breaks down a text animation letter by letter, word by word or line by line: animate once, and every letter, word or line follows with the delay you choose.

How does it work?

When you click Add, Textevo puts two things on your text layer:

• a Textevo effect, which gathers all the controls: strength, delay, direction, position, scale, rotation, opacity, blur...
• a text animator, linked to the effect by expressions, which does the work on the text.

You animate the Strength of the effect: at 100 % the text is fully transformed (moved, scaled, transparent...), at 0 % it is back to normal. Each letter, word or line plays this animation with the delay you have set.

You can stack as many Textevo as you want on the same text layer: one for the arrival, one for the exit, one for an animation in between...

What's new in Textevo 2026 (beta)

Fx: Elastic, Bounce and Oscillation

The new Fx button adds an elastic, a bounce or an oscillation to the strength of a Textevo, with its own controls in the effect. Textevo can optimize your keyframes so the effect really shows.

Presets that land where you expect

Presets are applied from the start of the text layer (or at the current time with Alt + click), on all the selected text layers or on a new one. The presets window has a search field and a rename button. Your old presets are updated automatically.

Presets that keep your whole look

The selectors and properties you add to the Textevo text animator (wiggly selector, fill color...) are saved in the presets and kept when you copy, switch 2D / 3D or change the Fx. Presets can also save the other effects of the layer (drop shadow, glow...).

And also

Alt + click on Add for the reversed animation with mirrored easing, Alt + click on Paste to paste at the current time, a new settings window, dialogs in the After Effects colors and many fixes.
